Student Accommodation - Host Families
The host family program is the most popular housing choice among students at our partner school in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Years of experience and feedback have shown us becoming part of a Mexican family is the best way to get acquainted with Playa del Carmen's local customs, culture, people and - of course - language. It's a wonderful opportunity to practice all the Spanish skills you learn in classes in a 100% Spanish-speaking environment!
Staff members at our Playa del Carmen school have carefully selected all of our participating host families to make sure that your experience is as comfortable and pleasant as possible with host families varying from young families to one or two retired people. Please keep in mind ahead of time that the lifestyles and standards of living may be simpler than those of North America and Europe. Our host families belong to the middle class or higher, but this may still mean a different way of life than what you're accustomed to. We encourage you to be willing to keep an open mind and, when necessary, to adapt to the local customs.
Single and double rooms are available, and we try our best to always place students no more than 20-30 minutes from the school, whether on foot or via public transport.
